Share what you have personally been dealing with the last six weeks.

much about nothing much

Much about nothing much does not apply to the last six weeks. First of all, I am moving this week. I have been staying up past three a.m to work on an essay in each class. About two months ago, I packed the majority of the house only to find out that the deal fell through. About six weeks ago, I unpacked the house. About two weeks ago,a house opened up, and again, I repacked the house.About four days ago we started bringing boxes to the new house so as of today and up until Monday,I will be in between two houses and only one house has internet.Today, while I was at the new house waiting for the water guy to turn on the water (his time window was sometime between 12:00 and 4:00)I was removing the bug bombs (one can never be too sure)and found the carcass of a centipede the size of a broken Popsicle stick! My biggest fears in life are spiders and centipedes (claustrophobia is a close second but it has nothing to do with the story). After extreme panic sunk in, I was left on edge just knowing that this beast was possibly in the house, alive, when I first entered.GROSS!Horrible thoughts ran through my head..."What if it has a family? Are these things communal? If its this big when its all folded into itself, how big was it when it was in motion? What was this thing feeding on to become this size? Should I set off 5 more bombs just in case his partner wasn't "home" during fumigation? Anyway,I will just have to hope for the best.I do think that the lack of sleep will effect my grades this week,I just can't see getting it all done in time, considering the internet will not be installed until Wednesday and I really have a lot to do.So,in a nutshell,I guess my blog was still much about nothing to anyone who can live comfortably among spiders(I think that they can sense my fear and taunt me), centipedes(with their hundreds of legs,I had one challenge me before. He stood upright and make "come on" gestures to me), bees(they, along with dogs, really do sense fear and will act on it.I had one chase me into traffic one day),ladybugs(pretty?NOT! pretty gross?YES! I got bit by one before and it hurt),praying mantis(these things are just freaky,I had one on my doorstep before and he wouldn't let me go into my own house!I went to swipe it with a broom and my neighbor said it was illegal to kill them.I told him to turn me in,I'm guilty)',butterflies(with their dusty wings and the fact that they were hairy worms prior, just weird and gross), crickets/grasshoppers(with their bally eyeballs. These things are mean, they will hop right in my direction, chasing me away), and locus'(do I really need to elaborate on these disgusting shelled, flying things?I had one walk on my bare foot.MY BARE FOOT PEOPLE!I cried,it was the size and weight of a crab.Everyone was telling me that I was "lucky" to have one on me.Really?Lucky I didn't have a heart attack perhaps) but for me,it was much about much much.

My Academic Challenges

I would have to say that my main academic challenge is that I write the way I talk, my verbal sentences run-on like my written sentences do. I do not have a lot to say most of the time but when I do,a lot is said without pausing. It may be the coffee. My written work is usually wordy even when I am not writing the way I speak, that would have nothing to do with the coffee.Another academic challenge of mine is quiz taking. If at anytime a countdown is visible while I am trying to concentrate, the timer is a complete distraction to me.This is not a new thing,my DVD player has a counter while a movie is playing I pay more attention to the numbers counting down than I do to the t.v.screen.This may be some sort of compulsive disorder,I don't know, but I do know that the countdown clock in the upper right hand corner of the quiz challenges me academically! My short term memory isn't as sharp as my long term memory and that poses a challenge. Other than that,I do pretty well academically.

plagiarism

What would you do if someone used something you created without giving you credit?

If I were the author of a written work, I would expect to be mentioned in the credits.Omitting the name of the original author implies that the said work is again, original. In one of my earlier classes,a classmate used my work for her credit but was caught.Thank goodness for timestamps!I certainly do not agree with plagiarism in any case, not even when "recycling"one of your own works from a previous class. Many people do not associate this with plagiarism but it is in a sense,it is cheating.I wrote a short story in 1995 and I wanted to send it out for possible publication. It occurred to me that if I were to send it out without a notary stamp to indicate a date, anyone who received my manuscript could have claimed authorship to it.I would definitely press charges if my work was stolen and a profit was made on the thieves part. These days,as far as school is concerned,I think that one would be a fool to plagiarize, there are computer programs that can determine proper citation, plagiarism (both intentional and unintentional, and paste and copy usage. It seems to me that it would be a lot easier and beneficial to the writer to research your own articles, paraphrase properly(not simple word substitutions),and cite both in-text and reference any and all borrowed works written by the true author.

The 3 "R"s via the 3 w's

Getting an online education has been beneficial in my case.Traditional college operates on a set schedule while online college allows me to set my own schedule. Although time management is still important in either learning environment, the online option gives me control of managing my time. I am most productive after midnight, the majority of my work is done late at night. Traditional schooling is typically done in the morning, I am anti anti meridian, not an early bird. Getting the worm isn't an incentive unless I'm going fishing. Speaking of going fishing, taking traditional classes would limit my fishing to weekends only. Some other advantages of online courses to campus courses are:
I save gas money by not driving to school.
I can wear my Joe Boxer PJs during seminar and it isn't inappropriate attire.
I don't have to sit on a wood chair with a desktop that is too far away from the chair to write comfortably, unless I want to.
I can take notes for class with dried up white pimple cream polka dots on my face and nobody even bats an eye.
Shoes? I don't need no stinkin' shoes.
Not only can I chew gum in class, but I can also blow bubbles without the professor holding her hand at my mouth and making me rid my chew.
When I throw paper airplanes at home,I don't get the "you could have taken an eye out with that" lecture.
My lunch isn't being served by the cafeteria lady (who isn't wearing her hairnet or her rubber gloves).
I don't have to sneak off to have a cigarette.
I can listen to music while I work.
I don't have to hear bells or fingernails on a chalkboard at home.
I don't have to worry about someone stuffing me in a locker,(I'm claustrophobic).
I wouldn't be as social in public as I am online.
And
My dog would miss me terribly if I left to go to school.

Welcome to my blogspot

Welcome to my (nightmare.A.Cooper) blogspot,
(please)allow me to introduce myself(M.Jagger),I'm just a girl(G.Stefani)in this Mad World(G.Jules).Although I was Born in the U.S.A (B.Springsteen),I have always felt as though England should have been my Home(R.Waters).My son Joey (Concrete Blonde)was born with a British accent but lost it by the Time(Pink Floyd)he was 4.He was born an Old Man(N.Young)and is the complete opposite of my older son Dennis, who will always be Forever Young(R.Stewart).When Joey turned 18(A.Cooper),he was already an avid golfer and he drives a New Yorker! He smokes cigars and has an interest in the stock market.I have to laugh when he tells the neighborhood kids to get off the grass! He only wears boxers and has no problem donning Black(Pearl Jam)dress socks with The Boxer(Simon & Garfunckle)shorts.Dennis is Fearless(Pink Floyd)and half Crazy(D.Matthews). He is 22 and pretty much just wants to Rock and Roll all Night and Party every Day(Kiss).Although he's a Working Man(Rush),he Still(L.Ritchie)manages to Shine a Light(Rolling Stones), Not Fade Away(Rolling Stones)and Party Like its 1999(Prince).

music notes

It was Roger Waters idea to made an audio loop of a cash register to play throughout the song "Money". The receipt paper ended up being 20 feet long by the time the song ended. To keep with the realism of sound effects, a razor blade and splicing tape accompanied the cash register.

In 1975 , Freddie Mercury wrote the song 'Bohemian Rhapsody'. It was the only song he wrote that would reach the top of the UK charts during his lifetime. After his death in 1991, Bohemian Rhapsody reached the top of the UK charts again.

Paul McCartney composed the song "Hey Jude" in an effort to cheer up John Lennon's son Julian, shortly after John and Cynthia Lennon divorced .

The Beatles song "Dear Prudence" was written about Mia Farrow's sister Prudence, when she refused to come out and play with Mia and the Beatles at a religious retreat in India.
